| Cheerleading has evolved over
the past 20 years from being an extra-curricular school activity to a sport that
now claims some of the most talented athletes. It involves skills which
require the strength of football, the stamina of basketball, the grace of dance,
and the agility of gymnastics.
Many competitive athletes train in All Star
cheerleading gyms across the nation. Athletes who are members of a cheer
gym compete solely against other competitive gyms. These gyms train girls
and boys, ages 4 and older, in the safe and proper techniques of stunting,
tumbling, motions, jumps, and dance. Athletes then take all these elements
and perform a choreographed routine at various competitions starting in the
local vicinity and working up to a nationwide level.
Cheer with a Twist (CwT)
was founded in Spring 2003. We saw the need to offer to the community a
comprehensive cheer, dance, and tumbling program in the Tri-City area. CwT
provides a high-quality program where safety and proper technique come first.
CwT started training
athletes at Ohlone College's gym and within one year grew large enough to obtain
its own facility. Currently, CwT is training All-Star and High School
teams out its new gym located in the Irvington District of Fremont. We
also offer recreation cheer and tumbling classes to anyone interested and
willing to learn about the sport!
All Star cheerleading is
the fastest growing co-ed and female competitive sport in the United States.
Whether you want to participate for fun, health, or earn a college scholarship,
there is a place for you in this sport. What you don't know, you will be
taught! Hard work and dedication are a must. If you are looking for
an athletic and competitive sport or just want to learn how to be a cheerleader,
