| Cheer with a Twist coaches
work to create a structured environment in which dedication, motivation, and
determination are embodied in the spirit of a winning team. We pride
ourselves on setting high standards for our athletes, coaches, and parents.
We stress the importance of developing talent to its fullest potential so that
every athlete can contribute his or her best to the team.
At CwT, we don't just train
our athletes to be strong cheerleaders, we encourage them to be strong leaders
and members within their communities. We believe in the philosophy of TEAM
(Together Everyone Achieves More). Within this philosophy we work on four
principles; Play, Choose Your Own Attitude, Be There, and Make Their Day.
Each of these ideas helps to create a community within the gym. To help
support these ideals we have received support from ChallengeDay.org and A
Complaint-Free World. We also heavily incorporate the teachings of Dr.
Jerry Lynch, a Sports Psychologist, who has worked with collegiate,
professional, and Olympic/amateur athletes. His
program covers readiness training, managing emotions, team harmony, leadership,
communicating effectively, mental toughness and focusing techniques, fear of
failure, unlimited beliefs, and so much more.
We’re
very proud to be one of the only cheerleading organizations to incorporate such
an in-depth mental health and well-being program that will benefit its youth
years beyond their participation in cheer.
In addition, we do many team
bonding activities in and out of the gym. Many which include parents, to
continue to foster our CwT family.
It is of utmost importance
to CwT that athletes maintain a good balance between school, family, community,
and extra-curricular activities. Not only do we encourage the
participation of well-rounded athletes in our program, but we also requite our
coaches to be well-rounded, highly trained individuals who continue educating
themselves in the field, and have a great love of children. |
